Staying focused on the markets

The cornerstone of the Wingate investment process is our annual strategic review—the Secular Forum. In November and December each year, we devote our weekly Investment Committee meetings to this Forum in order to review and update our economic and investment outlook.

Since markets are often driven by psychology and irrational behavior in the short term, we focus instead on identifying major long-term trends that will impact future investment returns. We also carefully review the forecasts of some of the most thoughtful and insightful market strategists and investment managers in the U.S. and abroad.

We then synthesize this information to identify opportunities and risks in various asset classes. The results serve as the basis for revising the model portfolios that reflect our strategies and guide our decisions in client portfolios.
